The cost of crowdfunding…on Invested.in – 3%
Over the last few months, we’ve been asked a TON of questions related the cost of crowdfunding, and we’ve realized that just saying “3%” is not enough. We’ve decided to post this blog with our most common cost related questions we receive. We hope that this helps you, and of course, if you have any more questions, feel free to send them our way.
How much does it cost to use Invested.in?
When your fundraiser ends and you make a withdrawal, we charge you 3%. There are no other fees to the project owner.
Is there any reason I would get charged a higher fee? Do I have to hit a certain goal?
Absolutely not. 3%. That’s it. Whichever one of our project types you choose…3%.
What other fees do you charge?
To keep accounting simple, and to help spread the cost out, donors, investors or backers (whatever you want to call them) pay the credit card transaction fees. These are the costs the CC company charges us. This is the only other fee on the site.
Someone told me to budget 10%, another person told me it could cost me even more than that!! Is there any reason to budget over 3%?
Nope. We only charge 3%. Thanks to our policy where the donors pay the transaction fees, we do not have to pass down those fees to you. For each donor, the cost is minimal…but if you had to put together all those fees, it would add up quick!
I heard that your platform has a Facebook app that can add a tab to my Facebook profile with my project in it, and also a really cool tool that automatically posts project updates to Twitter for me, and it also lets me completely customize the look and feel of my project by customizing the theme with any colors and images I want, and all the tools necessary to spread the word all over the internet, and, and, and, etc… Will it cost me more to use any of these features???!!?!1?
Nope. No extra cost to use any of our features. 3%, that’s it.
That last question was kinda ridiculous. Are you going to make us read through any more of this craziness?
